Meet DeKalb County Commissioners Michelle Long Spears and Ted Terry and District 2 School Board Representative Whitney McGinnis at a special Youth Town Hall, sponsored by Troop 18.
From 6:00-6:30pm, Troop 18 scouts will have an exclusive “pizza preview” to interview the commissioners and school board representative over a pizza dinner in the Glenn Fellowship Hall.
From 7:00-8:30pm the commissioners will hold a Town Hall with Troop 18 scouts, family members, other scout troops and members of the church and community that particularly addresses the interests of youth in our community. This is a not-to-be-missed chance for Troop 18 scouts and families to connect with DeKalb County elected officials!
Please RSVP by Sunday, September 15th if your scout can attend the pizza preview so we will know how much pizza to order!
Scouts should plan to wear their Class A uniform (no sashes or hats) and bring their interview questions. Scouts who attend the pizza dinner and Town Hall will earn the Citizenship in the Community merit badge requirements 3 and 4 and the Communications merit badge requirement 5.
